Perfect packing for the perfect cruise
If you are leaving for a cruise in for duration of 5 to 7 days, here are the packing tips that you will need.
- Pack like you would if staying in a hotel in the same area as your cruise it, e.g. if going to the Mediterranean, pack as if u were staying in a hotel in the area.
- Try and go light. A brochure of the dress section will mostly be mailed to you after you have booked the cruise so take that into account and make sure that you travel light.
- Air conditioning might be cold, so a warm shawl or two might be a good idea even in hot climes. Also check to see if anything with a theme is planned on board so that you may pack for the special occasions as well.
- You will need a comfortable pair of rubber soled shoes for the decks, so make sure that you get some.
- As you will be traveling to countries with different exchange rates a pocket calculator might be a good thing to bring along.
- If there us snorkeling planned then be sure to bring a white t shirt or risk burning your back.
- To avoid getting sick it is recommended that you pack a packet of drinking straws so that you don’t have to touch your lips directly to whatever you are drinking from. This will greatly reduce you chances of an infection while on board.
It is not necessary that all cruises are formal and stiff necked, for most part they are fun places where casual attire will be perfect for most of your time on the liner.
There will however be some formal occasions as well, but for those also there are relaxed codes for dressing, a cruise liners brochure will usually provide you all the information that you will need for any dress code and occasion. Some cruise liners also rent formal tuxedos and dresses so check this option before you decide. Usually the last night of the cruise is the formal dinner and for a 7 day cruise it will probably have around 2 formal nights.
